Ambassador for Education for Life Switzerland

Michaela Zenhäusern is taking over as director of Educationfor Life Switzerland with great dedication and enthusiasm—she was officially elected to this position at the 2026 General Assembly and is now also a new member of the board.

The impressive work of my predecessor, Cornelia Fabbricatore, has set the bar high—and encourages me to lead Education for Life toward an inspiring and sustainable future with fresh momentum.”

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Cornelia Fabbricatore for her many years of dedication—and we sincerely wish Michaela every success as she takes on this important role!

Education for Life was born out of a vision to give hope to people who are not so fortunate in life. The core idea was launched in Paris in 2004 with the founding of the “Education for Life” aid program under the leadership of Intercoiffure Mondial—with a clear goal:

“We see it as our duty to support young people and give them opportunities. The most important thing we can offer them is a quality education.”

What began as an initiative within the hairdressing trade has since evolved into an independent, internationally active organization. Education for Life develops and organizes targeted fundraising campaigns, oversees the establishment and support of educational programs worldwide, and actively recruits partners from the public sector and industry. Our commitment: The majority of every donation goes directly to our projects—in education, training, and the future of young people. Every donation should go where it has the greatest impact. The goal is to implement training projects in the hair and beauty industry in as many countries as possible, thereby giving young people not only hope, but above all a concrete and self-determined future.

Education for Life School in Phnom Penh (Cambodia)

This collaboration with Princess Ermine Norodom of Cambodia was initiated by Intercoiffure Suisse. Princess Ermine Norodom is the founder and director of Shanty Town Spirit and is very pleased about the partnership with Education for Life.

Thanks to our support, a group of six disadvantaged adolescents and young adults is able to receive training at the Arya Vong Kim Hair Professional Beauty Academy in Phnom Penh. Here, too, we are offering hope and the chance for a self-determined life through training in hairdressing and beauty services. The participants are carefully selected by renowned associations and nongovernmental organizations based on their needs and potential.

Princess Ermine Norodom, founder of Shanty Town Spirit, personally guarantees that the funds from Education for Life will be used exclusively for the benefit of the students and for their education. The vision of Shanty Town Spirit is: “One mind, one heart, one community.”

The goal is to promote the independence and self-sufficiency of families in disadvantaged communities and thereby improve their quality of life in a sustainable way. Shanty Town Spirit would like to extend its heartfelt thanks to Education for Life and Intercoiffure Suisse for their generosity and their help, which comes from the heart and is passed on directly.
